Boys Take Down Highly Ranked Maranatha

Jan 24 – Greetings! I’m shooting out this late-night update as it can really be hard unwinding after a night like tonight. We are extremely proud of our team’s effort in our last two games. Last Wednesday we scraped out an OT win over D3 Mission Vista, outscoring them 9-2 in OT.  

And tonight…

Well…tonight, we just wrapped up our biggest win of the year over Maranatha, a team ranked in the top 20 in all of San Diego County, all divisions. In fact, I believe Maranatha is the highest ranked team we’ve ever beaten in our boys’ basketball school history. We were missing one of our leading scorers for this game, as was Maranatha. The game was intense, high energy, and physical. Over this season, we’ve relied on incredibly tough defense and tonight was no exception. We held Maranatha to 39 points, their lowest point total of the season. Offensively, our scoring was balanced as our guys moved the ball effectively and hit timely shots. In the end, we won it scoring our final six points on 6/6 shooting from the foul line to close it out 45-39. Big, big win!

The hustle, effort, and commitment of these young men is special.
